Emfit SafeBed

The SafeBed occupancy monitor is intended to be used for monitoring bed occupancy and to give notificaton when no occuancy is detected. The system consists of a bed sensor and a control unit. The control unit has an audible notification sound and an output for connecting to nurse call systems.

 

Under Mattress Bed Sensor

The bed sensor is installed under the matress and is totally undetectable. This is not a simple pressure mat, but a sensitive active sensor that produces signals from the slightest movement (such as those caused by respiratory movements or heartbeat. When no movement is detected, the system recognises this as the occcupant absent and gives notification accordingly.

 

Control Unit

The control unit operates from 2 x AA alkaline batteries (An optional AC adaptor is available). When the unit detects the occupant has left the bed (there is a varaible time delay from 3 seconds to 60 minutes) the device will sound. It will also trigger the nurse call system if connected.

 

Interface to Nurse Call System

The control unit has an auxilliary output that can be connected to a nurse call system if fitted

 

Stand Alone Paging

The auxilliary output can be connected to a low cost paging transmitter. The responsible person can then wear a pager and receive calls from the system anywher in the building
