CCTV Camera Systems

CCTV systems provide video distribution throughout your office or factory, allowing you to monitor the safety of people and provide surveillance in sensitive areas of your building. We can provide, install and network a wide range of equipment, including pan/tilt cameras, dome cameras, monitors, VCRs, multiplexers, digital video recorders and monitoring over the internet. The products we use represent the best the industry has to offer and can be installed to fit the unique needs of your business.

Analogue  CCTV

Analogue cameras record to an industrial VCR. These differ from a domestic machine as they record with a small interval between images. This allows 24 hours of recording to be stored on a single 3 hour tape (5 frames per second v 25 frames per second with continuous recording). The quality of recording is generally acceptable for single camera installations, but produces a strobe effect on playback.

However, larger multi camera installations require a multiplexor (a device that will split multiple camera pictures onto an individual CCTV Monitor). This multiplexor then sends the images to (possibly multiple) VCRs.

For extended recording some machines are capable of 168 and 960 hours where recording over bank holidays and weekends required.

Analogue is ideal for small, single, cost concious installations whre the primary requirement is deterranc, but good tape mangement is required.

Digital CCTV

Digital CCTV uses current PC technology to digitize the CCTV camera images and compress them into a PC friendly format. These digital images can then be stored on onto a hard disk. This will guarantee high image quality. The major benefit though is the ease and speed at which recoreded images can be found.

Digital CCTV also has the advantage over Analogue CCTV systems that the image are of a far higher resolution
Currently the majority of CCTV systems use Digital technology. Digital CCTV Surveillance uses current PC technology to digitize the CCTV camera images and compress them into a PC friendly format. These digital images can then be stored on a PC's Hard Disk Drive. As the digital cctv images are stored on a computers Hard Drive it is possible save digital cctv footage and access it speedily and easily. Digital CCTV also has the advantage over Analogue CCTV systems that the image are of a far higher resolution.

With hard disk capacity continuing to raise inexorably, costs are now on a parity with tape use.; Users with large staorage reqirements arrays of disk drives are available, capable of archiving months of easy to search footage or one month of high rate recording.  The quality digital can offer can match the evidential image quality required by police forces (an image quality greater that S-VHS)

Some digital recorders can have built in motion detection technology. This means that digital footage is only recorded when someone or something walks in front of your CCTV Camera.
