Identicom and Peoplesafe - Lone Worker Protection Deliberately designed to look and feel like a normal identity (ID)
cardholder, it can be worn around the neck or with a lapel clip.
The unit incorporates a GSM phone module with microphone and a SIM card. The controls are on the revese of the unit so that unlike a phone, it can be activated in a discreet
fashion thereby ensuring no suspicion is raised.
You are assured that Identicom is always with the worker
and within immediate reach should an issue arise. Identicom uses mobile
phone technology but in a discrete compact fashion. Trying to use a mobile
phone to raise an alarm can often exacerbate an already difficult
situation and may even be the spark that creates a flashpoint.
Who Could Benefit from Identicom?
- Key Holders - Going out to check premises late at night
- Healthcare Workers - On home visits to patients
- VIP's / plc Directors - high ranking staff are increasing the target of a range of demonstrations/activists.
- Logistics / Delivery People - Sometimes carrying thousands of pounds in value of stock.
- Social Workers and other Local Authority staff
- Bank Workers - Like key holders with the keys to the front door ....
- Independent Financial Advisors - Visting homes or very small business premises ..
- Insurance Assessors - again in a loneworkers situation discussing important financial issues
- Retail Workers - is there a more effective way to combat verbal abuse, or even call upon the local security response team?
- Transport Networks - dealing with the public, very often stressed situations create unwelcome tensions and anger.
- Teachers
- now the ability to equip a teacher with an effective means to raise a
red alert and/or record abusive language from pupils/parents.
- Estate Agents - vulnerable by way of the necessity to meet strangers in houses/property alone
Issues Identicom Can Assist With
VERBAL ABUSE - until now there has been no effective solution for capturing abuse. The effects on staff are immense with the costs hidden in terms of lack of motivation or fear. PHYSICAL ABUSE - most panic alarms are located on physical devices such as tills. With PeopleSafe the ID card is always on the most important ""asset" - you or your employee. SOS - man down panic alarms are limited by the information available to be passed to emergency services, with this device the sound around the device is being listened to by the response coordinator and is used to plan an effective respons.
The EmployerThe employer themselves benefit from having a system in place that is effective in the meeting of their responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Legislation.
Loneworker / Lone workers in any clients facing situation are subject to potential risks that must be identified during the risk assessment that every company is required to undertake as part of its duty of care. There can be no doubt that immense risks exists and many organisations are ill informed and ill prepared to deal with the problem. Employers who do not have systems and processes in place are playing a dangerous game. Any staff subject to violence at work will be able to challenge their employer on how they fufilled their duty of care. Staff morale is affected. If incidents do take place there will no doubt be costs of incident management in addition to the need to pay a member of staff who will need time out of the office.
